Chief of the Office, Ministry of Science and Arts in Hesse (Germany) visited Hanoi University
On the morning of April 17, 2019, Mrs. Karin Muller – Chief of the Office, the Ministry of Science and Art of Hessen State (Germany) paid a visit to Hanoi University. Receiving Mrs. Muller, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao, President of Hanoi University; Director of International Office, and Dean of Department of German Studies. Accompanying Mrs. Karin Muller, there were Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, President of World University Support Organization (WUS) and Dr. Bui Cong Tho, Head of Hessen State Representative Office in Vietnam.
At the meeting, President Nguyen Van Trao expressed his sincere gratitude for the great support of the Hessen State Ministry of Science and Arts and the WUS organization for Hanoi University in general and the German Studies Department in particular for over the past few years. The President wishes to continue receiving the assistance, support and exchange of Hesse state in the following years.
In response to the President, Mrs. Chanh Van, the Head of Hesse’s Ministry of Science and Arts thanked the university leaders for organising the meeting, and highly appreciated the efforts of generations of teachers and students of Hanoi University in the past time. In particular, Ms. Muller expressed her pleasure that during the visit to Hanoi University this time, she witnessed the positive development of the University and hoped to continue to support the university in its development. Ms. Karin Muller affirmed that the state of Hesse pays special attention to the model of joint human resource training, aiming to further enhance the quality of student training and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Germany, and at the same time, strengthening the two sides’ bilateral friendship.
Responding to the delegation of the State of Hessen (Germany) and the WUS Foundation, President Nguyen Van Trao took the opportunity to send an invitation to Mrs. Muller and the delegates to attend the 60th Anniversary Year of establishment of Hanoi University which is going to be held in November.
On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Muller thanked the invitation from the university and forwarded to the President Nguyen Van Trao the invitation of the Hesse State Department of Science and Art to visit the state of Hessen (Germany) at an appropriate time.
At the end of the visit to Hanoi University, Ms. Karrin Muller and the leaders of the University and the Faculty of German Language affirmed their efforts in continuing to maintain and promote good cooperation between the two sides in the coming years.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the German Department and the Hessen Cultural Office, which is likened to “miniature Germany in the heart of Hanoi”.
